Why Interviewers of Roadies Revolution Winner were never satisfied ?
Roadies were never satisfied from the answer
Roadies is nothing at all about being a roadie; which is being a tough, intelligent and maverick personality. Roadies Revolution Winner is nothing at all about being a roadie; which is being a tough, intelligent and maverick personality. Your aim should be to outwit, outplay and outlast.
What I first thought about show was like. It should be about testing the capabilities of human being in seemingly simple but complex scenarios. How a particular person can achieve their goals with limit resources with several competitors in the field in most righteous manner. In fact, shows like roadies can be very inspirational… if they were organize as it is, which means no staging and stunting. You all should know, roadies is an adaptation of “Survivor”, a British reality TV series (Contrary to Raghu’s saying that it is my show and I am its mastermind!).
But as usual, it just turned out be another lame and cheesy Indian flick.
Full of masala and nuisance and no watch worthy content. I happen to watch some of their interviews and note following observations:
- Interviewers of roadies were never satisfier from the answer given by interviewees regarding “Why do you want to become a roadie?” Come on Dude.. seriously!
- The interviews which were shown on TV were always seem to be fix. I never happen to saw just a single guy who can outwit those dudes with peanut size brains. That certainly seem fishy and strange.
- For girls, only criteria to get select was to look hot and behave like a bitch.
- In their shows, their will always be more drama, bickering and love stories rather than some real action.
- People try to reason out each other without sensible arguments. Instead, they use abusive remarks and take situation personal and sometime even start to fight with each other (physically), which is grossly illogical! And they call that person “Dude” who uses these tactics.
Hence, the conclusion is Roadies is just a sensational TV show, through which its organizers can earn tones because of increasing TRP. They do this regardless of the fact that their activities can spoil Indian teenage brain. And they will keep doing this because its not in their nature for being “sensitive”.
The interview of MTV Roadies is nothing more than an dramatization of psychological and behavioral explanations of various human tendencies.
First of all, lets see how the participants are select for the interview round. Graphology is a science of understanding a person’s behavioral characteristics by studying his handwriting. In short, the form that is fill up by the participant is a complete reflection of his character. I personally would only choose people for my show who are entertainment and somewhat dumb to make the show interesting for national audience. And this is what actually happens on the show. (I have this verifier from one of my friends.)
Also, here are a couple of behavioral patterns which I understand.
Dispositional attribution : You behave not according to your personality but your environment. The famous Stanford prison experiment would explain this in better terms. On the show, they create such environment that you start behaving like a good for nothing individual. You face inferiority complex with personalities like Raghu and Ran Vijay, who have strengthener themselves with over-rate superiority over the years, and start behaving like a person of less stature.
Cognitive dissonance : You are repeatedly curse on the opinionate topics and beliefs, which creates a sense of conflict in self. Before you can understand what was actually told, they change the topic and repeat the same process. This leads to a self destructive behavior and person starts acting stupid, as we see more often on the show.
Also not to forget the various tasks during the interviews(I can only recall one at the moment from one of the recent episodes where Raghu drops the Rs. 100 note and asks the person to catch it with hand in a fix, stable position), which are scientifically establish and sometimes cannot be done without appropriate practice.
I still like to watch the selection process as you see how a person behave when taken out of their comfort zone. I like observing people.
About aspirants- People who are in dire need of counseling. They think they are passionate and determination, and they try to prove that to those that claim they have before, and have done that.
Also Suggestion : I used to see only the auditions of Roadies Revolution Winner but gave up since last couple seasons.
The cash offer is nothing when compare to the length of time and pain, as well as the winners take all style is extremely demoralizing. The only incentive is “to demonstrate to my friends that I’m cool” after returning, brag about being on national TV and be discussed.
